Tempted by P.C. and Kristin Cast

House of Night #6

I've previously reviewed other books in this series and been all over the place as far as reviews. I like some characters, I didn't really get into others. That's probably why there's been such a drought of news on this series for me. I wasn't completely sold.

Fast forward to this book. Here's how this happened, I was in my favorite used bookstore trading some awesome stuff in. I saw this book on the shelf. If you haven't seen the covers, you should, they're gorgeous.
Anyway, the book caught my eye. Now at the time, I didn't have access to the internet. I had a printed list of things I was looking for at the store, but that book wasn't on there. If I had access to the internet I could've checked my blog or my "to read" list to see if I was actually on book 6. In absence of this ability, I did what any crazy book lover would do. I bought it anyway.

Then, over the weekend, I left the book I was currently reading at work. This meant I needed something I could devour quickly before getting back to work and resuming my reading on the book I had left behind. Enter this book.

I opened to page 1 and was immediately transported back to book 5. It was amazing. The authors wasted NO time sucking you back in. This time, they sucked me back to the point where I was enthralled with these characters. I'm not sure what was different about this series this time. Typically, if I'm being honest, 6 books is too much to hold my interest. I get tired of the characters and move on. This book was GOOD. This book was enough to make me interested in book 7.

Now I'm not sure if you can pick up book 6 and completely understand the series if I'm honest. You'll probably pick up enough to understand what's going on, but you may not be totally immersed in the world. So I'd say go for book #1 and don't give up before this one.

My library had them all, maybe yours will too!

Happy reading.
