Chasing Fire by Nora Roberts

Ah, Nora Roberts.

I had my doubts about this one. It was recommended by an acquaintance and seemed semi-interesting. My doubts came from the last fire-related novel I read, years ago, which I absolutely hated. Was it fire that was my problem? I certainly hoped not.

This story follows a group of fire-jumpers, a profession I didn't know existed and was utterly fascinated by. They basically sky-dive in to fight wildfires. How insane is that?

Anyway, in typical Nora Roberts fashion things starts to heat up between two of the characters. Also typical for Nora Roberts something mysterious is beginning to happen. Is someone targeting the fire jumpers?

I was interested in the mystery, I enjoyed the action, and I didn't have it all figured out. I would've gone with four smiles, but the ending was a little too wrapped-up-with-a-bow for my tastes.

All-in-all, well done! Three smiles.
